We provide gold and silver as precious metal finishes.
Gold:
Our process is 24K pure gold plating. This coating is exceptional for soldering, conducting electricity, and has great corrosion resistance. 24K gold is soft and dull in appearance. This is not the same type that would be applied to jewelry or for an application where some wear resistance is needed.
Uses:
- Soldering
- Conducting Electricity
- Corrosion resistance
Specifications:
- We only certify to commercial gold plating
- ASTM B488
Silver:
We offer both matte and semi-bright silver plating. Silver plating is great for conducting electricity, soldering, thermal conductivity, and has high corrosion resistance properties. This plating can also be used as a high temperature lubricant. It is a soft coating and will wear fairly easily. This type of silver should not be used for decorative or tableware applications.
Uses:
- Soldering
- Electrical conductivity
- Corrosion resistance
- High temperature lubricant
Specifications:
- QQ-S-365 TI or TII
- ASTM-B-700 Grade A or D
Hohman Plating utilizes both Rack and Barrel methods for these finishes.
